'MMC set to take Malakoff private

PETALING JAYA: Power and ports group MMC Corp Bhd is expected to make a bid of almost RM7bil to increase its current stake of 22.3% in Malakoff Bhd to 100%.

MMC and Malakoff were suspended from trading on Bursa Malaysia at their requests yesterday. Both companies said there was “a major transaction” pending.

MMC was last traded on Thursday at RM3.82 while Malakoff had closed at RM9.85. Both stocks have risen substantially this year.

A general offer (GO) from MMC was likely to be about RM10 a share for Malakoff, or a little higher, said a banker who declined to be named. MMC might announce its offer tomorrow, he added. '

sebelum ni kitorang baru berkira2, habis projek ni akan ditolak ke mana? yang ada hanyalah projek di luar negara. itu pun projek usahasama.
